How to (Re-)Compress PDFs with Images for Free

I'll show you how to compress PDFs including their images for free using LibreOffice/OpenOffice.
LibreOffice (LO) has an excellent internal PDF export module. It's so good, that it's better than all PDF printers, especially if you have images in your document. LO can of course also open all kinds of other Office Documents and save them directly to PDF. But sometimes that may alter the formatting. But fear not, LO can also import PDFs directly into Draw. Once you've imported them there, you can export them again. In this export you can change the PDF creation settings to reduce images to a certain dpi value and compress them and with which percentage. Enjoy and let me know how it works for you!

You can download the PDF import plugin here.
